What are The Top 10 Mountain Biking Routes & Destinations In The World?

Do you like to take your mountain bike with you on vacation and explore all the paths and best routes that you find? Perhaps you even travel the world and rent mountain bikes at some of the top destinations. There are those great places to go biking, and then there are the top 10 mountain bike routes in the world. Each top 10 list is going to look a little different, but no doubt you will find these places extraordinary.

One of the best mountain biking trails in the world is called Colorado Trail. Then there is another called The Whole Enchilada. That sounds like an exciting and challenging adventure, don’t you think? When you look at some top travel sites, they rank destinations for you according to their own professional opinions. Others rank them according to reviews from travelers. Each site might have different metrics and varying amounts of participants with different backgrounds. The point I’m making is that there are some mountain biking sites out there that get their rankings from the people.

The only downside to that is certain sites may be more prone to identify biking destinations within the country the participants live. Not every mountain biker travels the world. I say all of that so you can keep this in mind as you look at some of the top mountain biking destinations. If you look at some of the sites, and all of them are in the US, now you know why. It will be because there were many US participants who have traveled the country but have not traveled the world.

So far, we have identified two of the top 10 mountain biking destinations in the world. Let’s look at some more of them. If you look at user ranking sites, those rankings are always changing, too, which makes things interesting. One site I looked at featured Monarch Crest Trail coming in at #3. I was delighted to see that because Monarch Crest Trail is in Salida CO. I have been to Salida and Monarch Mountain twice for two ski/snowboarding adventures.

Notice how many of the places seem to be in Colorado. Colorado is a beautiful state for sure. Of course, we have only identified three out of the ten top biking destinations in the world so far. The next one is Aberfoyle, Scotland. How would you like to take a mountain biking adventure in the beautiful country of Scotland? To round out the top five, let’s identify one more. The next one is Top of the World Trail in Whistler, British Columbia, Canada.

France has some great mountain biking destinations, too. One of the best there and in the entire world is the Morzine Slopes. Then there are the campus trails above Santa Cruz in California. Oh yes, we are back to the US again. By the way, I never told you where The Whole Enchilada is located. It is a city called Moab. McKenzie River Trail in Eugene is another top mountain biking trail.

South Africa is home to the Cape Epic – one of the biggest mountain biking races int eh world and the country is home to some incredible stage races for all levels of riders from beginner to advanced and professionals. Make sure to add South Africa on your mountain bike travel list.

Then there is Doctor Park in Crested Butte, Montana. You know that Montana has to have some great mountain biking trails. Be sure that you do pay attention to what you need to know when experiencing these trails. Some of them can be quite challenging I’m sure. And of course, make sure you bring all the supplies you need and have fun. If you are traveling the world, you are obviously going to have to get some of the things you need when you arrive at your destination. Plan accordingly, and have a blast on your next mountain biking experience.

Andalusia Mountain Biking|Tips for Andalusia Mountain Biking

The 5 Top Tips To Improving Your Andalusia Mountain Biking

Mountain biking is an exciting and difficult pass time. A lot of people are looking for tips that will help them make it to the bottom of the trail and you need to consider these tips if you are looking at Andalusia mountain biking. There are a number of tips that you can use to ensure that you have a good and safe time.

Properly Maintain Your Bike

The most important tip you can ever hear is to properly maintain your bike. You will not be able to focus on the trail if you constantly hear odd noises coming from your bike. Bike maintenance does not actually take that long and will save you a long walk or trip to the hospital. If you find something wrong with the bike that you cannot fix, at least you will have time to take it to a store before you hit the trails.

Before you head for the trails, you need to look over the whole bike and check for cracked, worn or broken parts. You also need to look for things that do not seem to be working correctly. Minor problems that you find at home can turn into major issues on the trail, so it is best to catch them before you go.

Focus On Where You Want To Go

A mistake that many people make on Andalusia mountain trails is to look at the obstacle they want to avoid. The problem with this is that when you focus on the boulder or tree you want t miss, you generally end up hitting it. Instead, you should focus on where you want to go to avoid these obstacles.

This focus is known as target fixation and you need to use it. While on the trail, you should always identify the line that you want to take. This will ensure that you have a smooth ride and avoid the obstacles in your way.

Relax On The Bike

If you have a bike with rigid or full suspension, you need to relax while you are on the trail. Your arms and legs will be the best suspension you have available. This means that you need to stand up and allow them to take the impact of the ruts and bumps on the trail. Once you know how the bike moves below you, you will be able to sail over the trail.

Relaxing your grip on the handlebars is also a good idea. While it is important to have a firm grip, it does not have to be too tight. A death grip on the handlebars will cause your arms to tire faster and this will make it harder to keep control of your bike.

Learn To Use Your Brakes

When you understand how to use your brakes correctly, you will have more control over your bike. A lot of riders think that there are only two settings for their brakes which are locked and not in use. When you have your brakes locked, you will actually have less control over your bike.

Most of the braking power for your bike will come from the front brake. However, you should not use this too much when you are going downhill or turning a corner. When you do, your front wheel might slide out or you could be tossed over the handlebars.

Ride As Much As Possible

Before you head to the rails, you should ride your bike as much as possible. The more time you spend on the bike, the better you will understand how it moves. Taking your bike to the coffee shop, to the store or just for a leisurely ride will give you the time that you need.
